Richard Quinn’s floral printwork is simultaneously British tradition and Leigh Bowery fetishism at their very best (the Liberty archive has never felt so fresh, nor full-body jumpsuits so wearable). That means that his designs are as suited to a garden party as they are Sink The Pink, and you can’t say that about many things. Accordingly, “Our customers have fallen in love with his designs, his use of print and the subversive nature,” Natalie Kingham, the buying director of Matchesfashion.com, told Vogue. Plus, of course you need to invest – this season, even the Queen got on board.

It is rare that a young designer’s third show commands the same level of adulation that Marine Serre achieved this season: ask anyone who saw her new collection how they felt about it and you’ll hear near unanimous praise. Her designs – simultaneously sportif and elegant – are thoroughly atune to current trends (hybrid pieces; modern fabrications; floating scarf prints) but achieve enduring appeal through their exacting cuts and modern femininity. “She represents dressing today,” Nicolas Ghesquiere told Vogue last year, “The sports clothes, the body consciousness, and a kind of romanticism and femininity. It really speaks of [this] generation.”
Key pieces to invest in: Crescent logo-printed basics perfectly suited to layering; the best-selling jersey sock boots; excellently-fit dresses made from up-cycled scarves.
