Olivier Lapidus named Lanvin's new creative director

The French designer Olivier Lapidus is to be the new head of Lanvin, following in the footsteps of Bouchra Jarrar who announced her departure on July 6. As a graduate of the Parisian Chambre Syndicale de la Couture, Olivier Lapidus was the creative director of his own eponymous couture house for eleven years. Since the Nineties, the designer has championed a style that perfectly mixes couture, artisan style and industrial research. As an advocate of high tech fashion, he enjoys designing experimental gowns from boundary-pushing materials such as solar panels and fruit fibers.
