Are you a Carnival lover? One week isn’t enough for you?

If you love confettis, masks, music and dances you have absolutely to participate to the Italian Carnival in Viareggio, a seaside town in Tuscany. You have certainly heard about the famous Carnival in Venice, but this is another sort of Carnival, not so “pompous” like the one in Venice, but funny, too! And the best thing is that it lasts even more than a month each Sunday afternoon and each weekend at night in different parts of the City of Viareggio. You can wear whatever you want, from pyjamas to common masks like bear or rabbit. Music is loud and party is always on! Along the streets, in the stands, you can find all sort of food, pizza, donuts, fries ... If you want to choose the best day to go, surely it’s the last weekend, because during the last night you can assist to a fireworks’ show, which marks the end of carnival. I suggest you, if you have the time, to stay a little bit longer and do some sightseeing in this wonderful area of Tuscany, where the sun always shines and you can enjoy the view and the beauty of the sea even also without Carnival.

So pack your things and start the journey to Tuscany, all what you need is a lot of irony and lust of fun, sad faces aren’t allowed! This year the Carnival in Viareggio ends on Saturday, March 5^th. So hurry up!

 

Bist du ein Faschingsfan? Eine Woche reicht dir nicht?

Wenn du Konfetti, Verkleiden, Musik und Tanzen liebst, musst du unbedingt am Karneval in Viareggio, einer kleinen Stadt am Meer in der Toskana (Italien), teilnehmen. Sicher hast du schon vom berühmten Karneval in Venedig gehört. In Viareggio feiert man aber anders, nicht so „pompös“ wie in Venedig, sondern auch lustig! Und das Beste ist, dass der Karneval über einen Monat dauert. In der Karnevalszeit wird an jedem Sonntagnachmittag und an jedem Wochenende abends/nachts in verschiedenen Stadtteilen Viareggios gefeiert. Du kannst dich nach Herzenslust verkleiden, einfach einen Pyjama oder Plüschkostüme wie Bär oder Kaninchen tragen. Die Musik dröhnt laut und immer wird gefeiert! Auf der Straße gibt es Stände, die mit Pizza, Donuts, Pommes Frites oder sonstigen Leckereien für das leibliche Wohl sorgen … Der beste Zeitraum für einen Besuch ist sicherlich das letzte Wochenende, denn nach dem letzten Umzug gibt es ein tolles Feuerwerk, das das Ende des Karnevals markiert. Wenn du Zeit hast, empfehle ich dir, ein paar Tage länger zu bleiben und dir diese herrliche Gegend der Toskana anzusehen, wo die Sonne immer scheint und du das Meer (auch ohne Karneval) genießen kannst. Worauf wartest du? Pack deine Sachen und auf nach Viareggio. Alles, was du brauchst, ist viel Ironie und Lust darauf, Spaß zu haben. Lange Gesichter sind verboten! Der letzte Umzug findet dieses Jahr am Samstag den 5. März statt. Also beeil dich!
